Style Guide
Find Your Style with Texas Boot Company
Style, in its purest form, is simply the way someone chooses to project themselves to others. Style is a reflection of our culture.
It all Adds Up
The elements of a boot all work together to project a certain style: Material, boot height, heel type, toe shape, stitch or tooling pattern, and color.
Which style you want to project oftentimes depends on the occasion. For this reason, it's more common than not for someone who appreciates boots to have a few pairs in different toe styles.
Where and How To Wear
Boots are not just worn on the ranch. For those that appreciate the spirit of the American West, boots are a vital part of that expression and a way for them to show their appreciation for Western Culture and their affinity and connection with the Cowboy era, even if they are not 'cowboys' themselves.
A nice pair of ostrich, alligator, caiman, or goatskin boots with a pair of jeans, a button-down shirt, and a sportcoat are quite the stylish look. No cowboy hat required. Be sure to match your ostrich boots with an ostrich belt of the same color!
Roper Boots can be paired with slacks and will work just fine. With jeans, boot cut or a straight leg jean made to be worn with boots is best.

Wide Square Toe: Wide Square Toe Boots have become the dominant Toe Style for the last 20 years. Approximately 80% of Men's Boots sold today are Wide Square Toe. They can be used for Dress Boots, Casual, or working Ranch Boots. In fact, most cowboys today also wear Wide Square Toe Boots. Aside from the style, they also are of value for the comfort after a long day on your feet.
Narrow Square Toe: Narrow Square Toe, sometimes called Cutter Toe, or in the case of Black Jack and Lucchese Boots, V-Toe and 7 Toe, respectively. Narrow Square Toe can be work as a more traditional or dressy look, but also has quite a bit of a following for use in the saddle, due to the slanted, over slung heel.
